Ring Operations & Officials

If competitors are tied after the Grand Champion round, they receive at least two minutes of rest between tiebreakers.

TIEBREAKER 1
A coin toss selects the exercise: Heads = Squats; Tails = Crunches. Tied competitors perform the selected exercise for 30 seconds.

TIEBREAKER 2
If still tied, competitors perform the alternate exercise for 30 seconds.

TIEBREAKER 3
If still tied, competitors perform Squats for 45 seconds.

FINAL REMATCH
If the tie remains, competitors complete a 60-second combined rematch: 30 seconds of Squats, a brief untimed safe transition, then 30 seconds of Crunches.

Ring Operations & Officials

Competitor Procedures & Commands

Ring Operations & Officials

Four designated rings—Youth 10–13, Teen 14–17, Adult 18–39, and Adult 40+—operate independently. One competitor performs at a time in each ring. The exercise order is Squats, Crunches, Full Push-ups, and Modified Knee Push-ups. Each ring has one Head Judge using a tally clicker and one Scorekeeper/Timekeeper who records scores and operates the timer. Each ring begins its Grand Champion round after its preliminary categories and the required recovery period.

Rest Periods, Missed Categories & Medical Stops

Before each attempt, the Scorekeeper/Timekeeper calls the competitor’s name and confirms her identity, age division, experience level, and exercise. The Head Judge asks, “COMPETITOR READY?” followed by “READY—GO!” The Timekeeper calls “STOP!” when time expires. The Head Judge immediately calls “NO REP!” for an invalid repetition. Repetitions started before “GO” do not count, and only repetitions fully completed before “STOP” are counted.

Competitors receive 60 seconds of rest between preliminary categories. Grand Champion qualifiers receive at least two minutes of recovery after their final preliminary exercise, with additional recovery allowed when needed for safety. A competitor who misses a category may compete in any remaining category that has not started but cannot qualify for Grand Champion unless all three required categories were started and scored. Officials may stop an attempt for medical or safety reasons; valid repetitions completed before the stop remain recorded, and the competitor may return only when it is safe.

Score Verification, Timer Problems & Disputes

All exercises, including Squats, are performed on the competition mats. Competitors must follow the mat-safety footwear instructions given by officials. Outdoor shoes are not permitted on the mats, and mats will be cleaned as needed. Spectators and coaches may offer verbal encouragement but may not interfere with competitors, officials, scoring, or ring operations.

Score Verification, Timer Problems & Disputes

After each attempt, the Head Judge verifies that the tally-clicker count matches the score sheet before clearing the clicker. At the end of each category, the Head Judge reviews the placements, and both officials sign or initial the score sheet. If the timer malfunctions or an accurate count cannot be verified, the competitor receives appropriate recovery time and repeats the full exercise; only the replacement attempt counts. Protests must be made respectfully to the Head Judge immediately after the category. Unresolved disputes are referred to the Tournament Director, whose decision is final.
